Technosensual-where fashion meets technology

THE HOLY DRESS
Melissa Coleman/Leonie Smelt, 2012
The holy dress punishes its wearer through an electric shock when a lie its told. By wearing the dress person chooses to become a martyr for truth. By speaking in the microphone and placing your hand on the external interface you can get an electric shock when the dress thinks you are lying, as it detects vocal stress.

LIKE LIVING ORGANISM
Local Androids, 2012
Like living organism; a breathing artificial skin garment with pulsing veins (air is pumped through the veins to simulate a pulse), the pulse increases when you approach and the neckpiece deflates on touch as sign of trust.

LIQUIFIED
Bart Hess, 2012
Remains of the "slime performance" created by Bart Hess during the opening of the TECHNOSENSUAL exhibition at June 14th 2012

INTIMACY 2.0
Studio Roosegaarde, 2011
Intimacy is a fashion project exploring the relation between intimacy and technology. Its high-tech garments entitled "Intimacy White" and "Intimacy Black" are made of opaque smart e-foils that become increasingly transparent based on close and personal encounters with people.

BUBBELLE DRESS
Royal Philips Electronics, 2006
Bubelle conveys the emotional state of the person wearing the garment through 13 separate miniature projectors located between the layers of the garment. A series of biometric sensors collect data such as heart rate, respiration and galvanic skin response, and the emotional information is visualized by altering the intensity, shape and colors of light generated by the projectors.

PSEUDOMORPHS
Anouk Wipprecht, 2010
A self painting dress , called PSEUDOMORPHS. This project consists of a neck brace and electronic back-piece which includes a sensory system. As soon as a visitor approaches, the dress starts to "bleed" ink. The process creates an image of flowing liquid that is organic and unpredictable.

LACESENSOR DRESSES
Meg Grant/Anja Hertenberger, 2012
Each of the three dresses in the Lace Snesor Dress collection is embroidered with a different poem, sourced from an antique embody sampler.
The sensors are created from custom.made conductive lace and the harder they are pressed, the louder the poem will play.

UNTANGLE ME
Django Steenbakker/Ricardo O`Nascimento, 2012
Take the mirror away and the UNTANGLE ME dress starts to shake and move like a little creature; surprising the visitor with it`s behavior.

PAPARAZZI LOVER
Ricardo O`Nascimento/Anbasja Blaken, 2012
"Paparazzi Lover" helps the wearer to remind photographers who the real star is. The dress reacts to the camera`s flash light that makes the 61 embedded LED`s switch on to catch the eyes of everyone. "Flash this dress with your camera".

MEDIA VINTAGE, CHARLIE
Melissa Coleman, 2009
Media Vintage is a series of interactive electronic textiles that contain memories. Charlie is a trench coat that reads fabric punch cards and tells you stories from an old man`s life.

BODY SPEAKER
Karina van Heck, 2009
The "Body speaker" is worn in direct contact with the body, by placing sound capturing membranes on to the skin it directs the internal body sounds to a control system that enables the carrier of the "body speaker" to create a remix of their body.

CIRCUIT DRESS
Nicky Assmann, 2008
This wearable instrument, plays with the principles of circuit bending. Twelve coils are incorporated into the dress, each of which is played by connecting them with one another through copper finger plates.
In this way new sounds are created.
The composition is a choreography for the fingers that slowly explore the dress.

MORPHOGENESIS
Pauline van Dongen, 2010
The innovative technique of 3D printing gave Pauline the opportunity to translate the sculptural feel of the garments into a rigid form in polyamide. Resulting in a sculptural form with organic lines-the polyamide shoes give a futuristic look proved to be stable and wearable. In collaboratio with Dutch company Freedom of Creation.

Frozen yogurt with red berries and white chocolate :D

If you are in Vienna right now you have to go to this exhibition! It goes till the 2nd September and the entrance is free!
Technosensual-where fashion meets technology. Artists and designers-paramount from the Netherlands-astonish the visitors with their works not only in a optical, but also in a technological way ;)
What I loved most is that you can kind of participate and try out what the different dresses make! And above all I think that the dresses look amazing! I would wear some of them! ;) And the way they combine the dresses with their technological doing is awesome!
